February: A Full Month of Heat and Golf
Interfin Bank Tournament

Last Feb 15th the Banco Interfin Tournament took place at Parque Valle del Sol Golf Course. It was open to the public and had a turn out of 110 national and resident golfer participants. The tournament fee was $100.00 per player and included: breakfast, lunch unlimited beverages, a ball cap, T-shirt, as well as many gifts from over 30 sponsors that were present. Giovanni Romanini - Pro Shop Manager commented that the event was characterized by its attractive prizes that made the tournament an exciting activity, not only for the players but for the public as well.

Four brand new vehicles from such well known makers as Renault, Puegot, and Nissan awaited players at the Par 3 holes and were ready to be driven home as a 'Hole in One' prize reward. Players had many occasions to prove their skill and win surprise prizes for the 'Closest to the Pin' player and a Ping Putter was awarded for the 'Closest to the Closets' award. A Titleist driver, estimated at $400.00 was rewarded to the "Longest Drive" winner.

The even concluded with the top 10 classified player and the 2 winners of the lunch raffle shooting it out for the 9th Hole, 160 yard, "Million Dollar Hole in One" contest There were no winners.

2003 Match Play Tournament

With 72 amateur golfers, the first 'Match Play Tournament' of 2003 began last Feb 22nd and 23rd and will conclude on February 28th and March 2nd at the Parque Valle del Sol Golf Course, where 5 categories of national champions will emerge. We were able to observer, in an intense competition, the outstanding skill of Adrian Chinchilla and Manuel Jiménez who stand as the favorites in this championship.

Last year's Match Play Winner Defends His Title!

This event's first phase will be held on Saturday Feb 22 & Sunday 23rd. We will initiate this tournament these two days at 12:30pm with a shot gun start. One the round is over we will have a delicious cocktail party from 5:00pm - 7:00pm. Throughout this party we will raffle different prizes for those players that do not make it to the second phase of the tournament.

The second phase of this tournament will be played on the following weekend, Friday Feb. 28th, Saturday March 1 and Sunday March 2nd; with tee times starting at 7:30am. First and Second place winners of each category will receive a trophy brought from New York, USA as well as sponsor prizes.

The registration fee is $100.00 and it includes:
· Green Fee (for everyday of the event)
· Drinks ('Bavaria' Beer, 'Crystal' Water & 'Tropical' Fruit Drinks)
· Cocktail, Breakfast and Lunch

*The registration fee does not include a golf cart or caddie.
