ALA GOLF TOURNAMENT 2003
Last Saturday, 30th of August 2003, a
golf tournament that was organized by the AirlinesAssociation
of Costa Rica (ALA) took place at the Valle del Sol
Golf Course. 120 amateur golfers competed in a variety
of categories for excellent prizes from the organizers
and sponsors. The golfers mingled with all the participants
during breakfast and lunchtime under the shades that
were located around the golf course. In this occasion,
several female golfers participated actively, and we
congratulate Marcela Valverde for making the longest
shot, and Robert Mant, who did an impressive "Hole
in One" at the 15th Hole.
Congratulations to the winners of the following categories:
Championship - Michael Hawkins, Category A - Fernando
Cruz and Category B - Javier Solís.

REPORTERS' VISIT TO THE VALLE DEL SOL
GOLF COURSE
On August 11th Valle del Sol Golf Course
played host to several members of the Golf Writers Association
of America .The writers represent the cities of New
York, Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago, Pittsburgh, San
Francisco, San Diego and Los Angeles.
Valle del Sol together with Cariari, Melia Conchal,
Los Sueños, Hacienda Pinilla and Costa Rica Golf
Adventures invited this prestigious group of golf writers
to play and review each course in order to promote golf
in Costa Rica. Valle de sol had the privilege of being
the first course the writers played. We started at 8:00
AM and finished to great reviews and positive comments.
Anthony Pioppi of Middletown, Connecticut said "a
golfer friendly course, fun to play for all levels".
Randy Tanttinger of Victory Sports and Entertainment
spent the morning shooting video of the course and interviewing
our Director of golf, Carlos Rojas," Fantastic
golf course I can't wait to show this video to our clients
back in Pittsburgh Pa".
The writers represent many of the leading golf and travel
publications so look for Valle del Sol golf course in
print promoting golf in Costa Rica.
